Watermillock

Project Title

A derelict Victorian mansion last used as a retirement home was converted to a 105 seat restaurant and licensed bar.

This Grade II listed former gentleman's country home was built in 1886 for the Thwaites brothers, cotton bleachers of Astley Bridge, Bolton.

Conservation included careful restoration of the Tudor Gothic style Yorkshire walls, Welsh slate roofs and stone-framed windows. The interior has a fine timber panelled hall, de Morgan tiles, and marble arches.
