- New Music Department
- Overlooking the Cathedral green, this house was formerly residential
accommodation for pupils. At one time Elgar used the large rooms
for teaching and practice. Given its historic connections and prime
location this was a fine opportunity to establish excellent music
facilities for teaching, rehearsal and composing
- There are suites of practice rooms, a drum room and keyboards rooms.
The first floor provides rehearsal facilities for a 100 member orchestra.
Opening up the interior has brought clarity to the use of the building
and brings light into its heart. One elevation sits upon a fine section
of Norman wall which is exposed internally
- This project was undertaken in conjunction with Associated Architects
- ▪ Client: The Kings School, Worcester
