This building William Kilbourne Kay had specifically built to house Kay's Universal Store's operations from 1908 onwards.
Built to his specification, it was considered a very modern building as it had central heating, electric lifts and its own telephone system.
A mixed use conversion of the redundant premises, this Listed Arts and Crafts building provides 24 quality apartments. A multi-level top-lit 'street' provides access. Employment and commercial uses open out to the front onto the Tything.
